The highway (E18) from Turku to Helsinki is the most important international road connection in Finland. On Turku-Helsinki highway, the drive from the metropolitan area to Salo takes an hour. E18 is a part of the Nordic triangle project, which emphasises the Finnish position as passage country between East and West.
